It was one of those rare hikes, where we didn't see a soul on this trail. Well probably because it was a weekday early morning. We hear this is not usually the case, and is quite filled with people, so don't be frightened. But it was a treat for us, felt like we had the forest to ourselves. So lovely to hear the birds chirping in absolute silence. Pretty magical! Although, the muddy parts were not so much. So don't forget to put on your dirty hiking shoes. There were a lot of fallen trees to my surprise, but you can easily jump over. It is a fairly flat trail, with some parts of steady incline, which makes this a great family hike.
It is quite an enclosed trail with very little views of the mountains. So when the trail opens up to this beautiful lake with breathtaking mountains as the backdrop, the name Boom makes perfect sense. There are tonnes of rocks surrounding the lake, so pick your favourite and enjoy a lovely picnic. Make sure to spend some time before you head back to inhale all that beauty. We missed it as soon as we turned back.
